Nathan Lawford, Blaine Technologies' chief financial officer, is known as the Iceman. He conducts his personal and business affairs without emotion, never allowing himself to become involved with anyone. When Nate sees something or someone he wants, he negotiates, paying a simple, set monetary price.
Now he wants Camille, the company's green-haired intern.
Camille Joplin Trent never expected to be paid to pleasure the man of her dreams. She can't quite figure out why this is a bad thing. Nate is intelligent, handsome, sophisticated, everything she's ever wanted in a lover and never thought she could have. Their contract is for a month, thirty lust-filled days of making every sexual fantasy they've ever had come true. At the end of this month, the rules state their relationship will end.
Of course, Camille has never been good at following rules.
Why this book?
I signed up to review this book mainly because back when it was offered, I was trying, the operative word being trying to write a 'steamy' story myself. Aside from the scorching cover, I can tell you, this book didn't disappoint, hot it is! I don't really read much of this genre, I think, the only thing I've read in full is Bared To You by Sylvia Day and I can say I like it so bear with me in this review. This won't be steamy, I'm a very cheesy person.
The Plot
It's the typical handsome executive posing as the alpha male love interest and the lovely and pretty girl as the main character. What sets this apart from other New Adult titles though is that Camille, the protagonist is not a Barbie doll. To quote, "He isn't looking at my green hair or my piercings,", yes this girl has piercings and though I barely have any aside from my the ones in my earlobes, oh I love her guts for sporting such hair. I just hope, I'll have that much courage cos I need to dye my hair green sooner or later. Ask me why next time.
Who were the main characters?
The cold and frigid Iceman, the executive Nathan Lawford and the quirky and stubborn green-haired intern Camille Trent.
Favorite character?
I don't know, but I'd love to hear any dialogue from the pinch faced lady working beside Camille. Camille can be annoying sometimes and I'd love for that lady to berate her because from the looks of it, she simply can charm everyone except that lady and the guard, Jerome.
What did you like most about the book?
Curry! Someone so dear to me loves eating curry and reading this makes me remember him. Haha. But seriously, I love the romantic vibe of the story even if it has been laid down from the beginning that this is an erotica.
What did you like least?
The excessive use of the word - also. It made me cringed! "You have something I want also", "That topic will cost me money also.", etc.
What did you think of the writing style?
It could be better but I think it's good enough, it picked up when I was near the middle and it got better since. The beginning kind of startled me though, I have to remind myself, yeah, this is erotica.
If you could change something, what would it be?
The reason why they enter into a one month contract, I find it too... forced.
What did you think of the ending?
Lovely. Or am I just really a romantic?
