While I was fangirling over the Gone Girl trailer, I certainly missed this one!

Srsly, when I learned that Chloe Moretz is going to play Mia, I was like... okay, Mia... Chloe Moretz, alright, I'll buy it. But, I was hoping for a much cuter Adam. (No offense to Jamie Blackley fans but come on) I've always pictured Adam as someone really hot like Kevin Zegers hot (when he's much younger - sorry, I'm casting using people in MY time hrhrhrhr).

I've read this Gayle Forman novel early this year right after she came here in the Philippines (yes, I missed that because I was in another bookish gathering I deemed much important at that time) and though I hate how it broke my heart into sad, sad pieces, I'd still recommend it to friends (yes, revenge!), the way my friends, Anna and Zim (these lucky people who met Gayle) sold this book to me.

After watching the trailer, I was reminded that yes, this is Mia and Adam's love story. But why am I not remembering the book that way? It is more of how The Hall family and everything else in Mia's life jive along that I remember. And Teddy! Oh, my darling Teddy!

I just hope they patterned the movie as to how it was written.

First look at the 'Gone Girl' Trailer

Okay, it's past 4 in the morning and moreover it's Maundy Thursday but here I am spazzing over Ben Affleck. Yes, I'm talking about the latest Gone Girl trailer (well, as evident to my title hrhr).

Am I late to the party or what? This teaser, as what other people call it (cos, yeah, it's just a montage ending with Nick Dunne saying he didn't kill his wife), apparently made waves yesterday and while I'm asleep (Slept all day. Sorry not sorry). Haha.

I seriously loved the book Gone Girl. It is something I won't put on top of my TBR mount but a certain book game with friends made me do so last year and I'm thankful I've read it. It has one sick plot, crazy twists combined with a tinge of reality. So, now when I learned that The David Fincher making the film adaptation of this Gillian Flynn book, I certainly told myself that I'm going to watch it. No matter what. (Rosamund Pike!!! Neil Patrick Harris!!!)

Now, let's talk about the trailer because that's what this post is really about.

I hit play and my first reaction was: She! What a very appropriate song. I was iffy at first, I mean, this song gained popularity in this new generation because of Elvis Costello's rendition, the one used in Notting Hill. Well, yeah, that Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts movie premiered in 1999, but no one can discount the fact that that movie is well-loved, let alone a classic. So, it got me thinking, why used a song popularized by another movie? Simple: because this movie is all about SHE. This story is all about the 'Amazing' Amy Dunne! And a quick Google research told me that the song was performed by a group called The Psychedelic Furs. If you haven't read the book, I suggest you not to read it anymore, because judging from the trailer, the movie is pretty much faithful to its novel counterpart. From that scene from 0:39, Nick Dunne's smile at 0:51, to the interview by 1:06, and the underwear! Who  dares forget the underwear at 1:10?  Perhaps one reason is because the author Gillian Flynn wrote the script for the film.
